Requires a well drained soil as well as a nighttime temperature drop. A relatively forgiving species compared to other epiphytic bladderworts. Like all carnivorous plants, these require distilled water to survive. All Utricularia species produce small bladder like traps that are capable of consuming small to microscopic soil and water dwelling
