1878 $3 Princess Gold Coin - Extremely Fine Details Draped Bust Half 5" Tall x 6By some accounts the primary purpose for the $3 gold coin was to make the purchase of larger quantities of 3 stamps easier. Whatever the reason, this "odd" denomination is always in demand and one of the more interesting coins in U. S. history. Though this is the most encountered date in Uncirculated condition it remains in high demand as people expand their collections. Despite having been removed from a bezel this coin remains a good looking piece
