Large Artisan Bhairab Mask No.75 Shakers dry or liquidThis large, bold and beautifully carved wooden mask has been hand made and painted by Newari artisans in Nepal. This amazing piece depicts Bhairab (also known as Bhairava or Mahakala, ) a fierce aspect of the Hindu god Shiva. These effigies are often hung above doors and entranceways and are said to be protective of a house or temple. Depicted with a crown of five skulls symbolising the transmutation of negative afflictions (greed, aggression,
